Dear Parents
Year 3 had a visit from Mrs Bryce-Shorland and her Brass Team this week and listened to lots of performances on a wide range of Brass instruments. They asked and answered lots of questions too, and a lot of fun was had by all! We would like to encourage children in Year 3 to begin a brass instrument. Many of the children tried the trumpet and pocket trumpet afterwards and there were many budding brass players amongst them! Mrs Bryce-Shorland teaches trumpet, pocket trumpet, cornet, french horn, tenor horn, baritone, euphonium, tuba and trombone, and instruments can be hired from school for a termly fee. There are several Junior Brass ensembles and we have a very lively and thriving Brass Department in the Junior School! Music is so good for the children and they love playing together in a group. And playing a brass instrument doesn’t have to be loud! If your child enjoyed the concert and would like to have a trial lesson, please contact [email protected] to schedule one. This can then be fitted in to Mrs Bryce-Shorland’s timetable and is free of charge. They can then try a range of instruments to find out what suits them best. We look forward to welcoming some more Junior School brass players to our lovely department!
A massive well done to Year 3's Emma, Harry and Lolleigh who played their instruments for us. We were so proud of all of them . Watch Lolleigh in action below.
