Yesterday we celebrated the 45th National Day of the UAE. We are all so fortunate to live in such an amazing country, and it was such fun celebrating it and learning as much as we could about it. Have a look at our day below:

We have been preparing for our National Day celebrations next week by learning the words to the National Anthem. Have a go at practising them at home and teach your parents the words too! Below are the words to help you, and you can find the music by following this link: http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=slow+version+of+uae+national+anthem&view=detail&mid=ABFAB9047AC6561E6B3DABFAB9047AC6561E6B3D&FORM=VIRE
On the Wednesday of Anti-Bullying Week the children came to school dressed in blue. Throughout the week they have taken part in a variety of activities to highlight the need to stamp out bullying for good. To show our unity, on Blue Day we made a heart and pledged to be good friends.

He, and his two slaves, travelled through time, from Ancient Rome, just to spend some time with us and to share with us what it is like to live in Roman times. What a lot we learnt! We now know so much more about how the Romans lived. We found out what it was like to be a slave and a soldier. We discovered that everyone has a bath together... yuck! And we now know how to build a Roman road. Thank you Cicero!
Please see below for details of our upcoming trip to Mushrif park. Signed consent forms and money are due in by Thursday 10th November, please.
We all had the most amazing time this morning at Peter Pan. The show was such fun and full of songs, dances and fighting pirates. We were transported to Neverland where we cheered Peter Pan, booed Captain Hook, made friends with Mr Smee and brought Tinkerbell back to life. What a privilege to watch such an energetic and professional performance. In Arabic, Mrs Ramy’s class were very excited to visit the Nursery Role Play area last week. They practised role playing as customers and shopkeepers, using the food vocabulary we learned recently. The children can all ask how much a kilo of a fruit or vegetables cost and can state what they would like to buy. They used their acting skills to express delight when something was ‘rakhees’ (cheap) or dismay when ‘ghalee.’ (expensive!) They also had a lot of fun using the pretend scales and till!
