On Wednesday, Year 3 watched the stage production of Fantastic Mr Fox performed at the Abu Dhabi National Theatre. Described as “a whisker-licking treat” by The Times, it was directed by Maria Aberg (As You Like It, Royal Shakespeare Company) and designed by Tom Scutt (A Number, Nuffield and Young Vic) and was a stunning stage spectacle of one of Roald Dahl's much loved stories. Fantastic Mr Fox is a tale of greed, pride and the power of friendship, with live music and songs and some special effects. The story is set in the countryside where Boggis, Bunce and Bean, three horrid farmers try to catch the cunning Mr Fox. Despite being smart, clever and rather fantastic, he doesn’t realise how determined the farmers are to get revenge.
The children enjoyed every minute and were keen to discuss their favourite characters. One said it was the best thing he’d ever seen! A lovely way to take our learning beyond the classroom and make the most of this great opportunity. As always, the children were a credit to BSAK – their behaviour was impeccable. Well done everyone! o edit.
